They also treat psychological conditions, including ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, and Learning Disorders. They provide psychological testing services that include developmental or achievement testing to diagnose intellectual disability, giftedness, or developmental disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder.
Tennessee - The International Dyslexia Association, Tennessee Branch provides a network for individuals with dyslexia, their families and professionals. All services provided by TN IDA are performed by volunteers with specific training and/or interest in dyslexia. They offer community outreach services including workshops, presentations, and forums for parents of dyslexics, administrators, and teachers. They also provide information on Referrals; Intervention/ Tutoring; Structured literacy tutoring; and Advocacy.
Memphis, TN - LDA of Tennessee supports and educates parents, individuals, and professionals about people with Learning Disabilities and at-risk students, answers questions, maintains a referral data base, facilitates public awareness and understanding, assists home school families on curriculum and home school law, and advocates for appropriate and effective teacher training.
Locations: Columbia; Lawrenceburg, TN - The Speech Language & Learning Center offers a variety of services including the following: Pediatric speech, occupational and physical therapy services; Autism diagnostic services (ADOS certified providers); Literacy/dyslexia evaluation and service; Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) evaluation and therapy; Pediatric feeding/swallowing evaluation and therapy services; Parent to Parent Assistance services.
Murfreesboro, TN - Tennessee Center for Study and Treatment of Dyslexia assists students with dyslexia by providing assessments and working with schools to determine appropriate intervention plans, and by educating teachers in best practices to promote literacy acquisition among students with dyslexia.
Nashville, TN - The Reading Clinic offers intensive, individualized, one-on-one tutoring using assessments and evidence-based instructional methods shown to promote reading; serving children in grades K-8. They use research-based practices in teaching reading to students with reading difficulties or other students with disabilities who are delayed readers.
Kingston, TN - SailAway Learning & Academy is a private K-12 academy for students who do not achieve in traditional learning environments. They offer tutoring and educational therapy services for students of all ages and ability levels, with an emphasis on ADD/ADHD and processing and memory issues. They provide developmental and educational assessments administered by licensed school psychologists. They also offer reading, writing, and spelling literacy programs.
